Okay, ladies. Let’s say you’re at work, minding your own business, working hard to take care of your family, and a police officer shows up and tells you to show him your breasts. When you refuse the unlawful, perverted order, the cop pulls his taser and fires a warning shot, and demands again that you show him your breasts. You run, and he chases after you, continuing to shoot his city issued tasering device.
What do you do? Other than keep running?
This is exactly what happened to Ashlea Bennett in Haskell, Arkansas recently. Bennett ran, of course, but the officer kept firing his taser device. He did not hit her, and though the experience was not shocking literally, it was figuratively.
Bennett has since filed a lawsuit against the officer, Brandon Carter, as well as the City of Haskell.
