Noam Chomsky: Germany imposing economic slavery on Greece

American philosopher Noam Chomsky has accused Germany of imposing economic slavery on Greece, with the ultimate goal of snatching Greece's resources.
To Vima reported Chomsky gave a speech in Dublin in which he stated: "The ultimate aim of the German demands from Athens, under the management of the debt crisis, is the rapture of the resources of Greece."

Chomsky went on to add that some people in Germany, who want to have anything of value in Greece, are "imposing conditions of economic slavery and psychological pressure on the Greeks."
His words are borne out by new hourly wage costs in Greece, released this week, which show wage costs have fallen by 11.2 percent. Eurostat released the figures which showed that across the eurozone the only decrease in hourly wage costs was in Greece. Whilst average wage costs across the eurozone were €28 per hour in 2012, rates are now falling in Greece to a parity with wage costs in Bulgaria where the hourly rates is €3.70. However, the cost of living in Greece remains much higher than that of other lowest wage countries, Bulgaria and Romania.
